Teaching Procedures(教学过程)
Step 1.Lead-in(导入)
Make a conversation about the reasons why the manatees are endangered.
T: Saving endangered animals is one thing we can do for our world.I think helping save the planet is also very important to us.
Step 2. Learning Aims(出示学习目标)
1. New words.
2. Important sentences.
3. Train students’ speaking and listening ability.
4. Pairwork.
Step 3.Groups in pair(自主学习)
Look at the pictures about pollution.Talk about them.
Step 4.Pairwork(合作探究)
Make their conversations.
For example: I think it is easy to turn off the lights.Because everyone can do it.
I think it is hard to stop riding in cars.Because many people go to work or go to school by car,otherwise they’ll be late.

Step 5.Listening(听力)
1. Ss read the information in the chart.
2. Listen and check the things that Julia are doing.
3. Listen again and check the things that Julia is doing now,Julia will do in the future,Julia would never do.
Step 6. Consolidation and Extension(拓展延伸)
The topic is “ How to protect the environment?”
For example: Save water.
Plant more trees and plants.
Stop cutting down trees.
Don’t step on the grass.

Step 7.Summary(小结)
1. Ss say what they have learned in this class.
2. Teacher makes a summary:
It is our duty to protect the environment. If everyone makes a contribution to protecting the environment, the world will be much more beautiful.
Step 8.Homework(作业)
1. After class,choose different ways to save the planet and to make posters telling people what they can do.
2. 以“How to save our environment”为题,写一篇短文。运用本课所学知识,联系实际,从我做起,从小事做起。
